The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Nashville Predators 5-1 Thursday night but the major storyline was the home debut of first round draft pick Jonathan Drouin.
Drouin showed his shifty hands midway through the second period as he juked a Predators defensemen. Drouin finished the game with 12:23 minutes of ice time, one shot and 2 for 6 on faceoffs.
“There is a lot going on, it takes games to get adjusted,” Drouin said.
Lightning head coach Jon Cooper liked what he saw from Drouin as well.
“There’s another gifted player, he makes plays to other guys. His upside is endless,” Cooper said in reference to Drouin.
