As expected, Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mattias Ohlund underwent surgery on both knees today. Here is the announcement from the team:
TAMPA BAY – Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mattias Ohlund underwent arthroscopic surgery on both knees today in Tampa, Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced. The procedure was performed by team medical director Dr. Ira Guttentag.
Ohlund will be out indefinitely and will begin the rehabilitation process in the near future.
The team will need to continue to get additional contributions from Marc-Andre Bergeron and Brett Clark, both of whom have played well in the first three games of the season.
