Skiddish Lightning Trail Bruins 1-0 At First Intermission

The Lightning fell behind early as David Krejci (assited by Milan Lucic and Jarome Iginla) pushed a wristshot past Ben Bishop at the 1:32 mark.

Still trailing at the 6:09 mark Sami Salo was sent off the ice for holding  and the Bruins went on the power play. The Lightning killed the power play and immediately afterwards went on a power play of their own.

At the 8:29 mark Brad Marchand was called for slashing but the Lightning were unable to capitalize as their skittish play continued and they only managed one shot on goal.

The Lighting special teams would have another opportunity at the 13:26 mark as Dennis Seidenberg was called for interference. They kept the puck in the Bruins end most of the power play but were unable to get the game tying goal.

The second half of the first period was very evenly matched and the Lightning appear to have found a little rhythm but will have to be more in sync if they want to defeat this Bruins team.

I am a fan of all sports but am most passionate about baseball. From the fanatical to analytical, nothing about the game escapes me. Being born and raised in Northeast Ohio I'm very familiar with the heartache and pain that sports can bring and hope that I bring some understanding of the other side to my coverage. I will focus mostly on baseball but also cover the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most electric franchises in all of sports. Always willing to converse about any sport and have only one rule and that is be respectful at all times.
