NHL Preview: Canadiens – Lightning

The Lightning return to the Tampa Bay Times Forum tonight when they host the Montreal Canadiens…The Lightning will play four of their next five games at home where they’ve compiled a record of 5-1-0…The Lightning have sold out all six of their home games so far this season (capacity 19,204)…Tonight’s meeting is the first of three between the Canadiens and Lightning this season…Tampa Bay won both meetings against Montreal at the Times Forum last season, and went 2-2-0 in four games overall….The Bolts hold an all-time home record of 16-13-5-3 against the Canadiens.

The Lightning are looking to snap their four-game losing skid tonight when they host the Montreal Canadiens at the Tampa Bay Times Forum…The Lightning own one of the top home records in the NHL at 5-1-0, while the Canadiens have only played three road contests (1-1-1)…The Bolts are unbeaten when leading after both the first and second periods this season….Tampa Bay enters tonight’s contest with the seventh (tie) best record in the NHL when scoring the game’s first goal with an .833 winning percentage…Vincent Lecavalier has recorded a goal in each of his past three games against Montreal dating back to last season…The Lightning are averaging 5.3 goals per game at home, while Montreal is averaging 3.0 on the road.

He became the first player in Lightning 20-year history to record points in each of his first three NHL games…Conacher leads all NHL rookies in scoring with 12 points (five goals, seven assists) and game-winning goals with two….He became just the sixth player in Lightning history to record his first career NHL goal in his NHL debut….Five of his 11 games this season have been multi-point efforts.

Steven Stamkos has recorded at least a point in nine of his first 11 games this season…Martin St. Louis has tallied 11 assists over his past eight games…Sami Salo and Victor Hedman are both tied for sixth in the league lead with +9 ratings…Benoit Pouliot has notched two goals and five points over his last six games…Matt Carle has recorded four points (one goal, three assists) over his past five games…The Lightning power play ranks second in the NHL at 28.3%.
