Lightning Up 1-0 At First Intermission

The Tampa Bay Lighting and Pittsburgh Penguins game got off to a rousing start when after just 4 seconds gloves were dropped. Both the Lightnings Ryan Malone and the Penguins Craig Adams were handed 5 minute penalties for fighting.

The Lightning had 3 power play opportunities but failed to score and the Penguins failed to score in their only power play attempt.

The Lightning scored their goal at the 13:25 mark when Valtteri Filppula scored with assist to ALex Killorn and Richard Panik.

The Penguins out shot the Lightning 9-8.
