TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning and the University of South Florida will host the first annual Bolts & Bulls Golf Classic, presented by Chase, at Avila Golf & Country Club on Monday, January 20, 2014 with a shot-gun start at 10 a.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to play with Lightning players, coaches, alumni, and executives at the exclusive Avila Golf and Country Club. The tournament will benefit the USF Sport and Entertainment Management MBA Program directed by Dr. Bill Sutton. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event. This is the first time in more than three years that the Lightning has hosted a golf tournament with the entire team, players and coaches participating along with team executives and alumni.
The USF Sport and Entertainment Management MBA Program is a two-year, dual degree master’s program designed to give students an in-depth look at all aspects of running a successful sport business.
“USF graduate students all enroll in rigorous business classes and participate in unique real world work experiences designed to grow them as individuals and businesspersons” said program director Dr. Bill Sutton. “Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used to enhance the program by providing funding for academics and instruction, student recruitment and extracurricular learning activities.”
