It wasn’t pretty and it wasn’t how the Tampa Bay Lightning wanted to go about business as they played the Buffalo Sabres.

The game went into the Twilight Zone as the Bolts spent most of the first period on their heels and down two goals. They were able to tie it up with a goal from Alex Killorn and then a subsequent goal by Steven Stamkos, his first of many of the night.

Although the Bolts had tied it up, it delved even further into the Twilight Zone as Stamkos sent a pass to the point and it caromed off the boards and into the Lightning empty net on a delayed penalty on Buffalo giving the Sabres a free goal and the lead.

Ryan Callahan was then able to tie it up and the Bolts went to overtime for their fourth consecutive game and Stamkos finished with his second goal(third if one counts the empty net fiasco) of the night in overtime on the power play.

It wasn’t pretty and hopefully the Bolts don’t plan anymore trips to the “Twilight Zone” and can finish teams in regulation.
