Anders Lindback deserved better today as the Tampa Bay Lightning weren’t able to give him the support he needed. Instead of his brilliant performance in net being the highlight of the story it  has been reduced to a silver lining in a 4-3 OT loss.

Lindback made some brilliant saves and looked really sharp in his first game back with the Lightning. While he was looking sharp, the Lightning were going out of their way to lose a game.

Pittsburgh is a team that makes other teams pay. It’s their bread and butter. For example, a Tyler Johnson pass being turned over at the blue line coming to  Evgeni Malkin who was camping right in front of the net and able to roof it on Lindback.

Lindback played in only his second start in seventeen games. It definitely didn’t show at all as Lindback flashed his glove, was sharp on deflection shots and played his heart out.  This loss shouldn’t go on him at all but it will.

Between the defensive lapses and not staying out of the penalty box, it’s been the same story all year for the Lightning as they lost the season series to Pitt.

The Bolts are a young squad but one would think after the fourth or fifth loss, they would have at least learned from some of their mistakes as they were in every game against Pittsburgh and lead in this one.
