Injured forward Brent Burns was back in the Sharks lineup Thursday night. He even contributed a late goal in San Jose’s 5-1 thumping of the Tampa Bay Lightning, though a puck redirected by Joe Thornton simply glanced off him.

Brad Stuart and Marleau also tallied for the Sharks, while Lightning forward Tyler Johnson ruined goalie Antti Niemi’s bid for a shutout at 7:39 of the third period.

The victory came in the opener of a season-long, five-game homestand. San Jose’s overall record at the SAP Center is 6-1-2, but this was its first win in the last four tries there.
