Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Ben Bishop had surgery on his right wrist.
He tore a ligament in his wrist just before the Olympic Break and had been playing with it for the rest of the season. That is until he dislocated his elbow just a few weeks before the playoffs. He got that taken care of the day of injury.
He said in a media scrum as he was cleaning out his locker that he was going to have surgery “next week” but didn’t know how much time exactly he’d need to recover.
A reporter asked him what that entails and he replied with “It’s ligament repair so it’s gonna be in a cast for 6 weeks and then it’s about a month and a half, two months for recovery.”
Now we know it’ll be 3-4 months. He should be ready to go by next season, easily.
