Steven Stamkos Talks About Recovery Process
Tampa Bay Lightning’s Steven Stamkos held his first press conference since suffering a broken leg against the Boston Bruins on November 11th. The surprise came when he entered the room without either a walking boot or crutches.
He is as surprised as anyone as to being able to be moving around without boot or crutches. As for the injury, he didn’t know for sure but had a pretty good idea when that the leg was broken as soon as it happened. Even when laying on the stretcher he couldn’t help but think about how well things were going for the Lightning and himself…”almost too good to be true.”
In regards to a timeframe? He can’t really provide one but not having crutches and boot two weeks after and the fact that he’s already started rehab are positive signs.
He wants to come back with the team in playoff mix and hopes that will be a reality. He believes the team will and that he will be back.
He continues to think about the Olympics although its on the back burner for now.
