Although the St. Louis Blues are only four points out of first place behind the Chicago Blackhawks, and have played two less games than the Blackhawks, they have come to a bit of a skid over the last couple weeks.
After putting together a 10-game point streak in December and January, they have gone 2-4. But they’re 7-1-2 in their last 10 meetings against tonight’s opponent, the New York Rangers.
The Blues have plenty of depth in both goaltending and scoring, with a +56 point differential (the best in the NHL) so now is certainly not the time to panic. When it is all said and done, it doesn’t matter what you do in late January, it’s all about what you do in April, May and June.
