In 2013, the Pittsburgh Penguins landed trade equivalents to summer blockbusters. They went to indie film route in 2014, grabbing Lee Stempniak and Marcel Goc in deals involving draft picks.
In the case of Stempniak, the Penguins sent a third-round pick to the Calgary Flames, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.
Stempniak, 31, has eight goals and 23 points in 52 games with the Flames this season.
