KINGS, SHARKS MEET IN GAME 7 TUESDAY; CONFERENCE FINAL BERTH AT STAKE
NEW YORK (May 27, 2013) — The Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks will meet in Game 7 of their Western Conference Semifinal series Tuesday in Los Angeles (9 p.m., ET, NBCSN, TSN, RDS).
The Kings, who did not face a winner-take-all contest during their Stanley Cup title run in 2012, are 3-4 all-time in a Game 7. They will be making their first appearance since 2002 and first at home since 1989. The Sharks own a 5-2 lifetime record in Game 7, including a 3-2 mark away from HP Pavilion at San Jose.
Some trends entering Game 7:
* The club scoring first has won each of the first six games in this closely-contested series.
* Home clubs are 48-20 (.706) in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including marks of 18-3 in the Conference Semifinal round and 6-0 in this series (all statistics through Sunday, May 26).
