The Giants might be getting some much needed help on defense:
Panthers source says they are working a trade that would send pro bowl LB Jon Beason to the Giants, who sorely need defensive help

Beason has had multiple surgeries, and passing a physical is no given. That said, if he passes, he’ll be a member of the Giants

The trade would send Jon Beason to the Giants for a late-round pick in the 2014 draft.
The Giants defense is allowing an average of 36.5 points per game, good for 32nd in the NFL and could use a new middle linebacker as Dan Connor injured himself in the teams first game and fill-in Mark Herzlich’s performance has been underwhelming.
The team will have to clear room on their 53-man roster before the trade becomes official though it’s unclear what move they will make. However, given their lengthy injury list it seems likely that they will place someone on season-ending injured reserve.
