Even though the Florida Panthers may have no real shot of making the playoffs, general manager Dale Tallon is in the mood to sell as Wednesday’s trade deadline approaches.
“We’re not blowing this thing up,” said Tallon, according to the Miami Herald. “If we can sell some assets to get better, we’ll do that. It depends what happens in the next few weeks. We’ll be aggressive either way.”
With pending unrestricted free agents like Tom Gilbert, Brad Boyes, and Tim Thomas, there is a lot of interest as the deadline nears. But, it seems Tallon would prefer to re-sign them for next season, if they want to stay.
Tallon has also apparently been given permission to spend up to the cap so these three players could be next in line for a nice raise.
