UNDATED (AP) — The NHL schedule consists of six games this evening. The Metropolitan Division-leading Pittsburgh Penguins are home to the Islanders tonight. The Pens top the division with 11 points while the Islanders are fourth with nine. This is the first meeting of the season for the Pens and Isles. Last season, Pittsburgh took three of the four meetings before eliminating New York in the playoffs last spring.
Toronto’s David Clarkson is making his season-debut tonight as the Maple Leafs face the Blue Jackets in Columbus. He was suspended the first 10 games of the season for leaving the bench during an altercation during a preseason game. Without his services the Leafs have won 7 of 10 games.
Anaheim and Ottawa are meeting for the second time this season. On Oct. 13 the Ducks took 56 shots on goal in a 4-1 win.
The remaining games tonight feature Buffalo at Florida, St. Louis home to Vancouver and Carolina at Colorado.
