The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still hoping that guard Carl Nicks will be able to return, but that return won’t be this week.
Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times tweets that he will be in attendance at minicamp, which started Tuesday, but won’t participate. The hope is that he’ll be ready for training camp, which is six weeks away.
After signing a five-year, $47.5 million deal in 2012, Nicks has played a mere nine games with the Bucs. A toe injury led to a staph infection (and nerve damage), and has caused his future to be very much in doubt.
