With the minutes dripping away in the fourth quarter of their loss to the Patriots, Buccaneers rookie quarterback Mike Glennon took a couple of steps onto the field in what some thought was a sign that the Bucs were going to pull Josh Freeman.
The timing seemed right, what with the Patriots up 23-3 and Freeman struggling once again, but Glennon did not continue further onto the turf and Freeman completed the process of guiding the team to their third loss in as many tries. After the game, Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano said he never considered making a quarterback change and explained when he would consider making one.
“Whenever that’s your best chance to win,” Schiano said, via Gary Shelton of the Tampa Bay Times.
