The St. Louis Rams are close to signing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers guard Davin Joseph, reports Alex Marvez of Fox Sports. The Bucs tried to trade him before releasing him but failed.
St. Louis is in the process of revamping their offensive line. They drafted former Auburn Tigers tackle Greg Robinson with the No. 2 overall pick this month and could make him the starting left guard this year. Even though guard Rodger Saffold left to sign a free agent deal with the Oakland Raiders, he came back to the Rams after the Raiders failed him in a physical.
All of this just means that Joseph could be a backup if he actually signs, because he hasn’t done well the past few years. Pro Football Focus warns teams interested in Joseph with this tweet.
The Rams have officially signed former Bucs Pro Bowl guard @DavinJoseph75.
