The Bucs suffered more than just a 31-23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons Sunday — they lost the team’s primary offensive weapon in running back Doug Martin. I talked to Eric Lopez about Martin’s shoulder injury, if he’ll return this season, and if it’s wise for the Bucs to even attempt to bring him back this year.
We discussed how the Bucs move on without him with the Carolina Panthers coming to town Thursday night, and how the Bucs plan to use Mike James and Brian Leonard in his absence.
We also discussed Peyton Hillis’ debut with the New York Giants on Monday Night Football and if the Bucs made a mistake by letting him go, given the team’s predicament now, with just two healthy running backs (three if you count Bobby Rainey, who was signed to the team this week but doesn’t know the playbook).
We discussed the defense’s performance against the Atlanta Falcons and how wide receiver Harry Douglas was able to carve up the Bucs secondary.
Last but not least, we discussed how fans are growing increasingly impatient with the Bucs coaching staff and the team’s inability to win games.
