Bucs’ Lavonte David Among League’s Top-40

Bucs LB Lavonte David sacks QB Joe Flacco

Tampa Bay Buccaneers weakside linebacker Lavonte David will get some well-earned recognition Wednesday. The third-year pro out of Nebraska will be featured on NFL Network’s NFL Top 100 tonight, with this particular episode featuring players 31-40.

Last year, David was left out of the NFL Top 100. He ended up being left out of the Pro Bowl too, although he got some validation when he was designated as an All-Pro by the Associated Press.

The Top 100 is an annual poll of players around the NFL. It has been compiled by NFL Network since 2011.

David will be featured Wednesday, along with former Bucs-turned-Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis, 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith, Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Bucs wide receiver Vincent Jackson was previously named the 44th best.

The special airs Wednesday night on NFL Network at 9 ET.
