The Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave up on Arrelious Benn, but the Philadelphia Eagles saw enough in the wide receiver to trade for him and draw up a contract extension.

The Eagles sealed up Benn with a one-year contract through 2014, the team announced Thursday.

Philadelphia acquired Benn for cheap last week, trading this year’s sixth-round draft pick and a conditional pick in 2014 for Tampa Bay’s 2013 seventh-rounder.

After catching just 59 passes for 862 yards and five touchdowns over three seasons with the Bucs, Benn still has to beat out a flock of Eagles receivers, including Jason Avant, Riley Cooper and Greg Salas behind starters Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson.
