Report: Dolphins Interested In San Diego State TE

The Miami Dolphins are certainly in the market to add pass-catching weapons for developing quarterback Ryan Tannehill, that is no secret.

The Dolphins, with multiple draft picks and lots of cap space at their disposal, will use both to improve the league’s 27th ranked offense.

Jason Cole of Yahoo! tweeted earlier today that the Miami Dolphins are interested in San Diego State TE Gavin Escobar.

Escobar, 6’6”, 254 lbs., ran a 4.84 in the NFL combine. compared him to long-time Peyton Manning target Jacob Tamme. analysis:

“Excellent hands catcher, very natural. Locates ball over shoulder very easily, picks the target out of the air effortlessly. Runs the seam like a wideout, long strides and eats up ground.”

“A straight-line mover after the catch, very little wiggle or straight-up tackle breaking.”
