Dolphins Youth Summer Camp Brings In Almost 600 Kids

The Miami Dolphins Youth Programs Department kicked off its annual summer football camps with a two-week stint in Davie at the team’s indoor training facility. The camp got off to an excellent start, as nearly 600 children participated over the two-week period.

Children were taught fundamental football skills by former NFL players, and enjoyed flag football games, competitions, specific position training and offense/defense skills throughout the week.

“Our summer camps are designed for the kids to have fun,” Dolphins Youth Programs Director Twan Russell said. “In addition to having fun, we want to make sure the kids leave the camp having learned a few things and have a unique experience that they will never forget.”

With the camp taking place at the Dolphins indoor training facility, having a memorable experience wasn’t hard to come by. The children caught a glimpse of where their heroes workout and practice, while also playing games at the “Bubble,” allowing for a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

“The kids love playing at the Bubble,” Russell said. “I think it’s really cool that they can experience that at such a young age, and I know it’s something they will always remember about our camps.”
