The Miami Dolphins have re-signed Pro Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes to a four-year contract extension, the team announced Monday.
The 5-10, 183-pound Grimes joined Miami in 2013 after spending six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (2007-12)
The deal is worth $32 million and includes $16 million in guaranteed money.
“I an thrilled that we have been able to reach an agreement with Brent to keep him as a member of the Miami Dolphins,” Miami General Manager Dennis Hickey said.
While with the Falcons, Grimes suffered a torn Achilles. The Dolphins gave him a one-year-deal to see if he could return to old form and he did. Grimes played all 16 games finishing with four interceptions, tied for team high.
