Dolphins Given Day Off After Second Straight OT Loss

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin gave his team Monday off after a second straight overtime loss.

The traditional Tuesday off-day will not follow.

Philbin says the Dolphins are facing a “huge challenge” right now, both dealing with the sting of Sunday’s 24-21 overtime defeat at Arizona and having to get ready to travel to Cincinnati this weekend.

So the Dolphins will be returning to work on Tuesday this week, not Wednesday as is common around the league.

Miami became the 15th team in NFL history to lose overtime games in consecutive weeks, according to STATS LLC. The Dolphins fell 23-20 to the New York Jets at home two weeks ago, then wasted a chance to knock off the unbeaten Cardinals by committing three turnovers in the final minutes.
