JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars and an Orlando television station that felt the need to explain for having to air Jacksonville’s road game at Oakland last weekend have teamed up to get two fans to London for the team’s Oct. 27 game against San Francisco.
The Jaguars insist the promotion, which is being sponsored by the David Maus Automotive Group in Orlando, has been in the works for some time and is not a response to what happened Sunday.
Team President Mark Lamping says Orlando is a key region because “nowhere is our effort to raise the Jaguars’ following and profile more evident or important than in central Florida.”
The CBS affiliate, WKMG TV, issued an on-air explanation for why it was showing the Jaguars while many viewers probably preferred seeing the Broncos-Giants game.
