Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert is going to miss his second consecutive game because of a hand injury, but the team may be getting two key starters back in time for Sunday’s meeting with Seattle.
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle) and tight end Marcedes Lewis (calf) may not practice fully this week, but coach Gus Bradley said both have a good chance of returning to the lineup against the Seahawks.
Gabbert will have some of the 15 stitches on the back of his right hand removed this week. He hasn’t thrown a football since he cut his hand on a player’s shoulder pads late in the Jaguars’ season-opening loss to Kansas City on Sept. 8, and that lack of activity is too much to overcome for Sunday — especially against a defense like Seattle’s.
