Vic Fangio Hired As Bears Defensive Coordinator

Chicago Bears head coach John Fox continued his hiring spree Tuesday announcing Vic Fangio as his defensive coordinator, according to ESPN. Fangio was the defensive coordinator in San Francisco.

He was also considered by the Redskins, who are out of a defensive coordinator after letting go of Jim Haslett.

Kyle Long tweeted out his liking.

Fangio has never switched coaching roles since becoming a defensive coordinator in 1995, when he served as Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator until 1998. From there he went to Indianapolis for three seasons from 1999-2001, then to Houston from 2002-2005, then onto San Francisco from 2011-2013.
