Young Cancer Patient, Spartans Fan Dies
A young girl battling cancer had formed a special bond withthe Michigan State basketball team and Adreian Payne. She was known to many as "Princess Lacey" and instantly became a part of the team when she met Payne a couple years ago. The 8-year-old lost her fight to neuroblastoma and passed away Wednesday night.
Payne recently told the media that Lacey was a big part of his life and he visited her in the hospital frequently. During the Spartans' senior night, Lacey became famous when Payne carried her around on his shoulders and she got to cut down the net following the team's Big Ten Tournament win. She even got a hat, just like the rest of the team and attended the College Slam Dunk Contest with her pal.
