Yankees Looking For Extension With Pitching Coach Rothschild
According to George A. King III of the New York Post, the Yankees are close to an extension with pitching coach Larry Rothschild. Hired after the 2010 season, Rothschild’s contract is set to expire at the end of the month, along with the rest of Girardi’s staff.
Under Rothschild, the Yankees finished eighth in the American League this season with a 3.94 ERA.
Still, they’ll have holes to fill this winter with Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera retiring and Hiroki Kuroda and Hughes headed into free agency.
