Yankees After Kevin Youkilis

If the report of YES Network’s Jack Curry is any guide, then the Yankees may indeed be looking to sign the old Boston warhorse. According to Curry, they’ve already reached out to Youkilis’s agent. Given that YES Network is in some ways the the Yankee house organ, there’s probably something to this.

The Yanks will of course be without Alex Rodriguez for a good chunk of the 2013 season, and that has them looking for short-commitment solutions at third base. Curry notes in his tweet that Youkilis is willing to consider a one-year pact, provided the money is good. Needless to say, the Yankees — even in cost-cutting mode — are capable of making a one-year sojourn in the Bronx worth his while.
