Yes, even with a new head coach, I would not have seen this coming either.
The Jets have posted an impressive 8-2 record since hiring Paul Maurice to replace Claude Noel as head coach nearly three weeks ago.
Statistically speaking, the Jets have drastically improved under Maurice as they average 3.3 goals per game and only allow 2.1 goals against per game.
While under Noel, the Jets averaged 2.6 goals per game and gave up roughly 3.0 against, so it doesn’t take a mathematician to see why the Jets are winning games under Maurice.
It also doesn’t take a genius to realize that sports teams DO need coaching in order to succeed. Here is an example.
