Winter Olympics:The Opening Ceremonies Recap
OK you can’t watch the 2014 Winter Olympic Opening Ceremonies live from Sochi, Russia and you are bummed.
You must wait until 7:30 p.m. tonight when NBC will present all the excitement of a three hour tape delayed event.
There are a number of sites that are doing live blogging with all of the cool details. You can of course follow the Twitter feed as a number of reporters are tweeting from the site as are viewers who are watching the event live on their TV’s at home around the world.
Due to rights fees there will be no live streaming that you can see however there are plenty of pictures and videos to see.
NBC is not broadcasting it or streaming the event live and I really have no idea why. People would still tune in tonight for the event and some might even do so after they know what they might be missing. But the network wants to hold all the information till prime-time.
“We want to put context to it, with the full pageantry it deserves,” Mark Lazarus, chairman of NBC Sports Group, told Variety about the network’s decision to not live stream the event. “We are looking to maximize the viewing experience for our audience.”
With Twitter and the other news sites around the world I have seen or heard about the Opening Ceremonies since it began about 11 a.m. ET this morning. So enjoy the sites above and you will know what to look for come tonight when you tune in NBC.
