ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper is a huge fan of FSU quarterback and recent Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston. He boldly remains true what he said earlier this season by once again proclaiming that “Winston is a legit candidate to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft,” writes Kiper. “That’s right, the draft after this coming year.”
Kiper feels that he is in the “Andrew Luck, once in a generation,” type of quarterback. He point out that many experts continue to refer to Winston as a freshman, but like 2012 Heisman winner Johnny Manziel, he actually made his debut as a redshirt freshman. That means Winston will be eligible to enter the 2015 draft.
While FSU fans hope that Winston stays put through 2015 Kiper is quick to point out that he also believes Florida State redshirt sophomore Jacob Coker, who will be back next season after his rehab stint is also a solid NFL prospect. All good news for Seminole Nation.
