Will ACC Tourney Officially Relocate?

The location of the ACC tournament has been swirling around conversations lately. It’s currently being held in Greensboro, N.C. and in 2016, it will be held at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. But the future goal seems to be to hold it in New York City.
Madison Square Garden is out of the question since the Big East re-inked their deal through 2026. According to a report from Pete Thamel of SI.com , the ACC is most likely headed to the Barclays Center in 2017, which is the first year the conference is not committed to a venue for their tournament.
The ACC wants a two-year deal from Barclays but there’s a little something in the way. The Atlantic 10 is currently holding their tournament at the arena and they are signed through 2017.
Even though the ACC is centered in North Carolina, the addition of Syracuse, Pitt and Notre Dame, and with Louisville joining the league next season, there’s a northern, and old Big East, presence in the league.
According to ESPN’s Andy Katz, the A-10 won’t shorten their deal with Barclays, but the league could be open to negotiating with the ACC to share the venue during Championship Week. In order for that to happen, the A-10 would need some kind of new agreement between the two conferences.

According to ESPN , the Barclays Center is negotiating with the ACC and the A-10 to work out a deal for the 2017 postseason tournament dates that could involve a scheduling alliance and non-conference doubleheaders between the two conferences, multiple sources told ESPN Friday morning.
Sports Illustrated first reported that the ACC would move to the Barclays Center in 2017 and 2018 for its conference tournament after it goes to Greensboro, N.C., in 2015 and Washington, D.C., in 2016.
But the A-10 has a five-year deal with the Barclays Center that finishes with the 2017 tournament. The A-10 is open to moving the days of the 2017 tournament if it were to get something in return from the ACC in terms of scheduling with the league to help raise its profile, a source with direct knowledge told ESPN. But that won’t work for the Barclays Center.
