Tampa Bay Lighting goalie Ben Bishop stood on his head in the second period leading his team to victory Thursday night against the Minnesota Wild.
“Great. I think there was a point there in the second period where they could have had three or four goals and he’s been playing well, he’s been helping us out a lot by playing the puck as a defensemen, so it’s good to see him going like that,” Lightning defenseman Matt Carle said.
The pregame story was whether Martin St. Louis would play with a sore foot and he did.
“I feel great. 5 and 2 is a lot better than 4 and 3. That was a good team win tonight,” St. Louis said.
Steven Stamkos scored late in the third period to give the Bolts a 2-1 lead.
The Lightning defense held the Wild to 2 shots in the third period.
