Warren Sapp to Join Buccaneers 'Ring of Honor'
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will announce the newest member of the Buccaneers Ring of Honor in a 1:30 p.m. press conference Thursday, the team announced. It is expected to be Warren Sapp.
The team won't reveal who it is, but Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that it is Sapp, the team's newly-elected Pro Football Hall of Famer, who is set to be enshrined in Canton this summer.
Sapp is just the second player in franchise history to receive Hall of Fame honors and is the first to do so on the first ballot. Lee Roy Selmon, the Bucs' first Hall of Famer, was the inaugural member of the Buccaneer Ring of Honor.
Sapp will be the fifth member of the prestigious Ring of Honor group, which includes the late Selmon, the late head coach John McKay, tight end Jimmie Giles, and offensive tackle Paul Gruber.
