Warren Sapp Isn’t Your “Boy” and No, He Won’t Tip You

If you work in the food service industry and happen to come across a certain former Tampa Bay Buccaneer, Pro Football Hall of Famer and NFL Network analyst by the name of Warren Sapp, be warned — he might not tip you.

Sapp went to a Hallandale, Florida sports bar yesterday to watch the World Cup soccer match between the U.S. and Belgium. Apparently he wasn’t satisfied with his service. So he left, without tipping the waitress for his meal.

The waitress was understandably angry and decided to post the receipt on social media, which Darren Rovell got ahold of.

Sapp took to Twitter to defend his actions, saying, “Service was [the] worst,” and that the waitress kept calling him and his company “boys.”

You can see he signed the receipt with, “Boys don’t tip,” so clearly he was unhappy about the way in which his server chose to address him and his guest.

Is it right to stiff a server, even if the service was awful?

And was it right for the server to post the receipt on social media, even though you cannot see the least four digits of his Visa credit card?

Probably “no” on both accounts.

But the real question is, why’d he cash out and leave at 5 p.m.? Who does that when it’s the World Cup?!

(Note: A previous version of this story said 3:20, which was, in fact, the time he was swiped in. Thanks to our readers for the catch).
