Video: Could the Bucs Draft a Quarterback at No. 7?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed quarterback Josh McCown in free agency, and head coach Lovie Smith even said that McCown was his quarterback. So why was Smith at Johnny Manziel’s pro day this week? That’s a question that’s been raised a few times on social media.

Here’s what I think:
Bottom line — all options are on the table at No. 7, but McCown is expected to get first dibs at the starting job. And with a head coach who was fired after going 10-6, who is taking over for a coach that was canned after just two seasons, there won’t be a whole lot of patience for building, so McCown could start tomorrow, and that’s a safe choice.
Just don’t be surprised if they do take a quarterback that high. The Bucs remain committed to drafting the best available talent, and if one of their top guys falls, like a Johnny Manziel, who some teams may shy away from due to off-the-field concerns, he may just fall right into their laps.
