Video: Bucs CB Johnthan Banks Talks Tackling and Third-Down
Despite getting the 49ers into some?third-and-long?situations, the Bucs defense was unable to get off the field on third down, yielding a 17-yard scramble to quarterback Colin Kaepernick on the 49ers' opening possession to set up a 4-yard touchdown by Michael Crabtree.
"That's tough," cornerback Johnthan Banks said. "[With] a team like, you've got to get off the field on third down. If not, stuff like that is going to happen. With a quarterback like that, he can make plays with his legs, and he did that."
In?the second quarter, a short pass to Anquan Boldin?turned into a?25-yard pickup on third-and-15, setting up a 47-yard field goal by Phil Dawson.
Then, of course, there was that ten-play drive to open the fourth quarter, where the Niners converted on third-and-12 with a 14-yard pass to Crabtree, setting up another Dawson kick that would put the game out of reach.
Banks was then asked if he thought the Bucs tackled well.?"No, no. That was probably the worst since Carolina."
