Vettel wins 7th in a row with Abu Dhabi GP win
Sebastian Vetteljust keeps making things look to easy. The newly crownedF1 Championof 2013 added yet another trophy to his case. He won today's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and that makes seven races in a row where he stood on the top step of the podium.
It was a great day for Red Bull Racing as well as it marked their 100th podium in F1 asMark Webberfollowed him home in second.
Butthe Germanwas plunged into controversy again as he completed a string of illegal donuts to celebrate. While burnouts are commonplace in NASCAR they are frowned upon in F1.
Vettel was reprimanded at the last round and his team fined $40,000 dollars for doing the same.
But he escaped draconian punishment because he had just made history with his fourth successive world title.
Vettel spoke to the press after his big win in the night of Abu Dhabi addressing the point that his parents were on hand to watch the race. I love them very much and I want to dedicate this win to them. They spent a lot of their lives watching me race. Now its bigger toys and more people watching and it was great for them. I have learned a lot of things from them.
Vettel proved there would be no lifting off the gas even though a fourth successive title has been shelved in his trophy cabinet at the last round.
It was the margin was his biggest of the year nearly 31 seconds.
And if this run continues for the remaining two rounds in Austin and Sao Paulo he can become the first man in history to win nine Grands Prix in a row.
And that would match his idolMichael Schumachersrecord of 13 in a year.
As we said earlier Webber was second, then came the Mercedes driven byNico Rosberginthird, completing the podium. Well after a short break next up will be the United States Grand Prix in Austin on Sunday November 17th. You can be sure the world will be watching if Vettel can make it eight in a row.
