The Bulls may have ended their season on a low note as they fell to Rutgers in their last game of the season, but senior middle linebacker DeDe Lattimore has something to celebrate.
In his final game as a Bull, Lattimore had the most successful game of his career. He had 18 tackles and one forced fumble, breaking the school record. Before the game kicked off, Lattimore played it cool in warm ups– literally. In 33-degree weather, Lattimore practiced without his shirt to prove to Rutgers that the temperature would not affect his play.
Despite the “tough guy” image he portrayed, it was not enough to take the win from the Scarlet Knights. The Bulls lost 31-6, allowing Rutgers to be bowl eligible and travel to play in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.
The Bulls’ season is easily described as disappointing and Head Coach Willie Taggart knows that his team needs to work on offense. The game against Rutgers was the 6th of the season that USF did not score an offensive touchdown.
South Florida may have finished their season with a national low 11 offensive touchdowns but the team has high hopes for next season. With 15 returning starters next year, Taggart is optimistic.
Lattimore is confident that Taggart can get the job done. He says that he guarantees the Bulls will be back on top next year.USF’s Lattimore Celebrates Career Best by Amanda Borges
