USF Soccer Players to Face Off in MLS Cup
Former talented USF soccer players are making names for themselves after college. Forward Dom Dwyer and goalkeeper Jeff Attinella will match up against each other in the MLS Cup Finals on December 7th.
Dwyer plays for Sporting KC and he was an explosive part of USF’s offense in 2011. He scored a team-high 16 goals. Dwyer assisted the Bulls to a third Elite Eight appearance in school history. While at USF, he was named All-Big East First Team and was named Offensive player of the Year.
Aside from soccer, Dwyer has a knack for good music. On Twitter, Dwyer invited hip-hop and rap artist, Drake to the MLS Cup Final game at the Sprint Center.
Too bad for Sporting Kansas City, Supposedly Drake is a fan of Real Salt Lake. Nonetheless, fans are hoping he’ll make an appearance.
Jeff Attinella, Real Salt Lake player, started all four years at USF. He led the team to 4 straight NCAA Tournament appearances and a Big East Tournament Championship in 2008. He was also named Goalkeeper of the Year in 2009 in the Big East conference.
Tickets for the game are already sold out, despite prices being the highest they have been in the past five years.
The game will air live on ESPN at 4 PM.
