USF Head Coach Skip Holtz Fired
The University of South Florida has fired head coach Skip Holtz after three seasons, according to Brett McMurphy of ESPN.com.
South Florida ended a disappointing season on Saturday with a 27-3 loss to Pittsburgh. The loss was South Florida’s third in a row and ninth in its last 10 games after the Bulls opened the season with a 2-0 record. South Florida ended the season with a 3-9 record and were 1-6 in conference play.
Holtz was hired by South Florida in 2010 when he coached the Bulls to their fifth consecutive eight-win season and led them to their sixth consecutive bowl game.
