Storm Johnson ran for three touchdowns helping UCF to a dominating 38-0 win over FIU Friday night.
His three touchdowns set a single-game career-high for the junior running back. Johnson, who entered the 2013 with five career touchdowns, now has five after the first two games.
Junior quarterback Blake Bortles had himself a nice game as well. He completed 12 of 19 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown. Bortles also rushed for a touchdown in the first quarter.
Junior Rannell Hall led the way for wide receivers with four receptions for 127 yards.
The offensive starters were taken out of the game after three quarters, as the Knights held its 38-0 lead at the time.
The UCF defense stayed strong for the the full 60 minutes, holding FIU (0-2) to 173 total offensive yards.
After leading the team with 10 tackles a week ago, line backer Terrance Plummer was all over the field again with a team-high seven tackles.
This was the third time the two teams have faced each other, with UCF now holding a 2-1 advantage.
UCF (2-0) has now outscored its opponents 76-7 in the first two games of the season.
UCF will finish its two-game road trip with a game next week against Penn State. The Nittany Lions (1-0) still have to play Eastern Michigan tomorrow before preparing for the Knights.
The two teams have faced off twice before, with PSU winning both times. These teams haven’t seen each other since 2004.
