UCF Offensive Line Trio Off to the NFL

Members of the winningest senior class in UCF history will continue to represent the Knights on the gridiron in 2014 as offensive linemen Chris Martin, Jordan McCray and Justin McCray have all officially inked free-agent deals with NFL clubs.
Martin inked a deal with the Houston Texans, Jordan McCray will suit up with the Green Bay Packers and Justin McCray will don the Tennessee Titans uniform.
“I am proud to say that I have known these guys from early in their high-school careers,” UCF offensive line coach and assistant head coach of offense Brent Key said. “I am glad to see all the hard work lead to this opportunity to continue playing this game at the highest level.”
UCF’s left guard as a senior, Jordan will have the chance to learn from one of the best in the game as former UCF offensive lineman Josh Sitton was the Packers’ starting left guard last year, was named to the Pro Bowl in 2012, won a ring when his Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV and earned the title of 2010 Offensive Lineman of the Year by the NFL Alumni Association.
Martin, the Knights’ right tackle, will join former UCF teammate A.J. Bouye with the Texans. The cornerback signed an undrafted free-agent contract with Houston after the 2012 campaign.
The offensive linemen along with quarterback Blake Bortles and running back Storm Johnson are the Knights’ newest additions to the NFL. Bortles ultimately became the highest draft pick in school history when he was selected third overall by Jacksonville May 8. Two days later, Johnson also was taken by the Jaguars, hearing his name called in the seventh round.
The trio of Martin and the McCray twins helped the seniors post a 38-15 record from 2010-13, which stands as the most wins and best winning percentage (.717) over a four-year stretch.
They blocked for Bortles and Johnson in 2013 as the Black and Gold went 12-1, won the American Athletic Conference title and defeated Baylor in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. UCF finished at No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 and defeated a pair of top-10 programs during the season.
The offense averaged 34.6 points per game last year, while the 441.5 yards per game average was UCF’s highest in 15 seasons.
In December, the McCrays were voted on to the All-American Athletic Conference First Team, and Martin earned a spot on the Second Team.
Jordan McCray received All-Conference USA Honorable Mention status in 2012, and the twins were both on the C-USA All-Freshman Team in 2010. Martin has been a staple on the line since his freshman campaign, and experimented with tight end for the first four contests of the 2012 season, posting a touchdown reception at Akron.
