Two NBA Trades That Make Sense

Los Angeles Lakers Pau Gasol for Minnesota Timberwolves Kevin Love and Ronny Turiaf:
With both the Los Angeles Lakers (14-20) and Minnesota Timberwolves (16-17) struggling this season a trade that would send Pau Gasol ($19,285,850) to Minnesota for Kevin Love ($14,693,906) and Ronny Turiaf ($1,500,000) would make sense for both the Lakers and Love.
The Lakers are struggling and on the way to a lottery pick while waiting for Kobe Bryant to recover from a knee injury. Love is having his best season as a pro averaging 26.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game but the Timberwolves are just (16-17).
Love would bring promise to the Lakers and assure the franchise a predecessor to Bryant.
The trade would also match Pau Gasol with Ricky Rubio giving the unappreciated power forward a fresh new start.
If the Timberwolves aren’t too careful they may lose the forward via free agency following the 2014-15 season and gain nothing.
New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony ($21,388,953) for Los Angeles Clippers Blake Griffin ($16,441,500) and Jared Dudley ($4,250,000):
It’s no shock the Knicks are struggling, thats what they do. The Clippers with the leadership of Chris Paul and head coach Doc Rivers would maximize the potential of Melo.
The argument is Anthony is a “ball hog” and wouldn’t allow the Clippers to thrive offensively. What people tend to forget is he may have been the best player on the Olympic teams with Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
Matter of fact, the Clippers adding a scoring threat like Carmelo who can score down the stretch of games would take pressure off Paul and open up offense for other players around both of them.
As for the Knicks you are getting Griffin in return, a 20 point and 10 rebound per game guy that is the face of the NBA in his prime.
