Tuck: Fantasy Football Players To Add

These are some guys you might want to add to your bench with bye weeks starting in week four, and possibly more upside to be found in them than some rostered players.

WR Eddie Royal, Chargers- 5 touchdowns in two weeks.  It’s possible he may not score again for 5 weeks, but it’s also possible he keeps scoring.  Rivers has to throw it to someone, and with Malcolm Floyd out indefinitely Royal seems to be his best choice.

RB James Starks, Packers- Eddie Lacy suffered a concussion and doesn’t have a return timetable.  Starks isn’t exciting, but you need to own him for now if you have Lacy, and he is worth an add even if you don’t.

WR DeAndre Hopkins, Texans- There was probably enough hype before the year for this 1st round pick out of Clemson that he’s likely owned, but if not, what are you waiting for?  He may not be a starter in most leagues, but he could be a nice bye week fill-in.

TE Charles Clay, Dolphins- Everyone talked about Dustin Keller having a nice year with Ryan Tannehill, and when he went out Miami didn’t have a direct replacement.  But, the Dolphins have liked Clay for the last couple of years and he is carving out more of a niche with this team.  He’s a weapon in the passing game, and a worthy TE2.

WR Kendall Wright, Titans- Kenny Britt is coming undone.  Dealing with Jake Locker each week isn’t fun, but Wright is Tennessee’s best receiver and he should expect 5 catches every week.

RB Andre Ellington, Cardinals- At Clemson, Ellington was one of the most explosive backs in America.  He was hurt in the preseason and didn’t get any looks, but now it seems he’s jumped ahead of everyone except Mendenhall.  The Cards showed on Sunday they like him on 3rd downs, and his speed is going to keep him on the field.  He’s not a starter for any fantasy team outside of very deep leagues, but you should probably make room on your roster for him.

WR Nate Burleson, Lions- The Lions throw a lot.  We know this.  Burleson has caught 13/14 targets he’s seen this year.  He’s playing (Ryan Broyles isn’t), and in a PPR league he’s at least a bye week option.

Kansas City Defense- The Chiefs are 2-0 and the defensive side of the ball has been very impressive.  They have 9 sacks and have forced 4 turnovers.  They still get the Raiders twice.  They are worth a look.

Tampa Bay Defense- As bad as they were a year ago, they’ve been great so far this year.  They have 9 sacks, a major weakness last year, and the secondary is making plays.
